Midway Heights Elementary School

Midway Heights Elementary School opened in 1956. The building, which sits on a hill, once served 
as a K-8 school for the Midway community.
The Midway mascot is the Eagle.
The school colors are blue and white.
The 2012-13 enrollment at Midway is 268.
Extracurricular activities at Midway include Keeper of the Keys character club, Student Council,
 Math Club, and Choir.

Mill Creek Elementary School

Mill Creek Elementary School opened in 1988.
The Mill Creek mascot is the Cougars.
The 2012-13 enrollment at Mill Creek is 864.
Mill Creek Elementary is Partners In Education with Columbia Insurance Group, Rolling Hills Veterinary
 Clinic, and KMIZ--ABC-17. The partners sponsor a weather station at the school that is used by KMIZ
 to report the weather in Columbia.

New Haven Elementary School

New Haven Elementary School opened in 1956 and was part of the Boone County R-II School District. 
At its opening, New Haven enrolled 148 students in grades 1-8. In 1980, New Haven became part of
 the Columbia Public Schools system and for the 1992-93 school year, the school mascot was changed
 from the Warriors to the Stars.
Today, New Haven prides itself on being a community of learners that partners with children and their
 families. We value parent involvement, cultural diversity, and celebrating the rich history that founded
 New Haven Elementary. New Haven is a school steeped in the traditions of celebrating and honoring 
our veterans, promoting character development, and hosting community events such as our yearly 
sock-hop.

Parkade Elementary School

Parkade Elementary School opened in 1958. It is named for the subdivision around the school site.
The Parkade mascot is the Panthers.
The school colors are blue and yellow.
The 2012-13 enrollment at Parkade is 527.

    Paxton Keeley Elementary School

    Paxton Keeley Elementary School opened in 2002. The school is named for Mary Paxton 
    Keeley, the first woman to graduate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of 
    Journalism.
    The Paxton Keeley mascot is the Comet.
    The school colors are red, white, and blue.
    The 2012-13 enrollment at Paxton Keeley is 682.
    Paxton Keeley's first principal was Elaine Hassemer, formerly the principal at Fairview Elementary before coming to Paxton Keeley in 2002. Adrienne Patton is serving as the 
    interim principal for the 2013-14 school year.

    Ridgeway Elementary School

    John C. Ridgeway Elementary School opened in 1923. John C. Ridgeway was the first Boone
     County soldier to die in World War I.
    The Ridgeway mascot is the Rams.
    The 2012-13 enrollment at Ridgeway is 243.
    Ridgeway is a K-5 magnet school based on the concept of Individually Guided Education (I.G.E.). By assessing each student in each subject area and placing that student in appropriate instructional groups or working individually, the student should be successful every day.
    Ridgeway was recognized for Excellence in Education by the U.S. Department of Education's Outstanding Elementary School program in 1985-86.

    Rock Bridge Elementary School

    Rock Bridge Elementary School opened in 1957. It was not originally part of the Columbia
     Public School District. The school is located next to Rock Bridge State Park.
    The Rock Bridge mascot is the Bears.
