Blue Ridge Elementary School

Blue Ridge Elementary School opened partially in 1965. The entire school was not open until 
1966. Blue Ridge recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.
The Blue Ridge mascot is the Mustang.
The school colors are blue and white.
The 2012-13 enrollment at Blue Ridge is 512.
Blue Ridge Mission: To prepare all students to be respectful and productive learners ready
 to enter the next level of formal education.

Cedar Ridge Elementary School

Cedar Ridge Elementary School was built during the summer and fall of 1978. Classes moved
 into the building in December of that year. The school started classes with children in grades
 kindergarten through grade 4. The building, at that time, consisted of five classrooms and a 
small multi-purpose room. The building was known as either North School or New Haven North.
 In 1987 the school was officially named Cedar Ridge. The name was chosen because of the 
proximity of so many cedar trees and for the Little and Big Cedar Creeks that flow throughout
 the area. 
The Cedar Ridge mascot is the Cardinal.
The 2012-13 enrollment at Cedar Ridge is 193.

Derby Ridge Elementary School

The Derby Ridge mascot is the Dragon.
The 2012-13 enrollment at Derby Ridge is 552.
Derby Ridge mission: We believe all children can learn and we will have high expectations for all Derby Ridge students. We will work together to recognize, and build on, the strengths of each individual. It will be our job to create a safe and nurturing environment, provide appropriate social opportunities, and most importantly engage them in quality learning activities that produce high academic achievement.

Fairview Elementary School

Fairview Elementary School opened in 1965.
The Fairview mascot is the Falcon.
The school colors are blue, yellow, and white.
The 2012-13 enrollment at Fairview is 565.
Fairview Mission: The faculty of Fairview Elementary School will strive to develop an atmosphere
 in which each child will succeed to his/her greatest potential. We will provide experiences to 
acquire the basic skills, enrich the curriculum to meet individual needs, and challenge each child 
intellectually. The staff will work together to provide activities which enhance each child's physical, 
social, and emotional development. We will strive to prepare each child to adapt to changes in our 
society and to participate effectively in a democracy.

Grant Elementary School

Ulysses S. Grant Elementary School opened in 1910. It is designated as a local historical site.

The Grant mascot is the Generals.
The school colors are royal blue and gold.
The 2012-13 enrollment at Grant is 281. Grant has students from 21 different countries.
Grant Mission: 
In a cooperative effort with parents and the community, Grant School seeks to help all children reach their academic, intellectual, social, and creative potential within a safe and nurturing environment.

Lee Elementary School

Lee Expressive Arts Elementary School was established in 1904 and is located in the heart of downtown Columbia. It is the second-oldest school in Columbia. The original building was replaced with our current building in 1934.
Lee became an expressive arts school in 1990. The school gives students an opportunity to explore and experience art, music, movement, drama, literature, and the social and physical sciences through integrated extended classes. Students perform concerts and dramatic presentations, display visual art, attend local performances, and visit museums and galleries, to name a few!
The 2012-13 enrollment at Lee is 294.
